The Vatican's complacency in holding child molesters accountable for their crimes against innocent, vulnerable children is wrong because it is breeding dangerous criminals in our society. The Catholic clergy should realize the trauma that a child undergoes when he is sexually assaulted.
The 200 deaf children molested by a Wisconsin priest have lived for years bearing the scars of the torture inflicted upon them. Child sexual abuse in the Catholic clergy requires strict laws to ensure that the criminals are prosecuted in a court of law and brought to justice.
