The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Women’s Association is holding an Interfaith Symposium on Sunday, June 20 from 4-6 p.m. The event is for women only. The topic is “Founders of Religions-As Role Models for Society.” Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and Hindu speakers will be featured. The chief guests will be City of Allen Mayor Pro-Tem Debbie Stout and council member Robin Sedlacek.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans over 193 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1921, is the first American-Muslim organization. Ahmadiyya is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. They believe Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation., and that he has divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings. The Ahmadiyya is ‘Love for All, Hatred for None.’
The objective of the symposium is to bring women of all faiths together and engage in a meaningful dialogue to infuse mutual understanding between their beliefs. The event will run from 4-6 pm. Sunday, June 20 at the Baitul Ikraam Mosque, at 1850 Hedgcoxe Road in Allen, TX 75013. The program will be followed by a question and answer session and refreshments. Women of all faiths are welcome. Please RSVP Saima Sheikh at 972-678-0461 or Tayiba Bashir at 972-697-1126, email at dallastbl@yahoo.com.
