Facilitators of Ahmedis’ attacks arrested

LAHORE: A team of law enforcers, including personnel of intelligence agencies and police commandos, arrested two major suspects of the attacks on the Ahmedis’ worship places, sources told Daily Times on Thursday. They said both men were the main facilitators of terrorists who not only provided weapons and ammunition, but also escorted the terrorists when they had arrived to carry out the attacks in Garhi Shahu and Model Town.

The sources said late on Wednesday, a large team of law enforcers, including intelligence agencies’ personnel, had surrounded the Shahdara area. They searched several houses and arrested the two suspects, Rana and Hafeez, and shifted them to unidentified locations for further investigation.

The sources said both were arrested on information gathered from the arrested terrorist, Muaaz. They said that during investigation, Muaaz revealed that he had carried out the attack in Model Town under Rana’s supervision, while his accomplices had done their job in Garhi Shahu under Hafeez’s supervision. staff report
