The Punjab Police, often accused  for having sympathies for the extremist elements and ineffective control of the terrorist activities in the Punjab, has not taken the incident seriously.

LAHORE: (Ahmadiyya Times) - An Ahmadi Muslim youth was kidnapped by the terrorists and the kidnappers attempted to force the young man into a suicide-bomber’s jacket.

Ali Abdul-Mannan, a resident of Scheme 20-D in Baghbanpura area of Lahore was intercepted while riding his motorcycle by two long-bearded men and subjected to torture upon his refusal to wear the suicide jacket, Ahmadiyya Times learned from an Urdu newspaper, Daily Waqt in Pakistan.

Having failed in their efforts to force Abdul-Mannan to blow himself up, the terrorists attempted to slaughter the victim.

With gaping wound from his slashed neck and unconscious, the victim was left for dead on the street where he lived.

Ali Abdul-Mannan was taken to Services Hospital where he is recovering from the attempted murder.

The Punjab Police, often accused  for having sympathies for the extremist elements and ineffective control of the terrorist activities in the Punjab, have not taken the incident seriously.

Abdul-Mannan’s uncle Masood Malik made the police report at the Baghbanpura Police Station where it was taken lightly.

While the victim lays recovering from the attempted slaughter and gaping neck wounds, Senior House Officer (SHO), Malik Mubashar Awan of the Baghbanpura police station brushed off the incident as a possible attempt by the victim to gain world sympathies.

According to SHO Awan, the victim is unemployed and this might be an attempt to buyoff foreign sympathies and European countries would rush to issue him a visa.

The Punjab Police has a reputation of standing idly by when minorities are attacked and their properties looted and set ablaze.

The law and order situation is abysmal in the Punjab where Pakistan Mulim League (N) group is in power.

The Punjab Law Minister has been seen openly campaigning with the leaders of banned terrorists groups, Ahmadiyya Times have previously reported.

In recent days, the PML-N chief, Mian Nawaz Sharif has announced party’s inclination to start negotiations with Taliban.
