United Church says Pakistan insecure for minorities, warns of 'direct measures'

[Akram Masih] termed the Country insecure for the minorities and warned government for initiating the series of countrywide protests, if the murderers of the alleged Emmanuel brothers were not detained.

ISLAMABAD: Christians led by Mutahida Church Pakistan held a protest here on Wednesday expressing their dissatisfaction over the efforts by the government to protect the minorities.

Addressing the gathering of hundreds of angry protesters the leaders of the MCP blamed the government for its complete failure in protecting the minorities across the country terming country unsafe [...] for minorities.

Ikram Maseeh, from MCP addressing the protestors condemned the Blasphemy accused Christian brothers Rahid Emmanuel and Sajjid Emmanuel shot dead in Faisalabad.


From last few years the violence Maseeh said, against the minorities with special focus over Christian and Hindu communities have been raised, and the government has failed to nab terrorists.

Terming both accused brothers who were shot dead in broad day light, he maintained that score of minority members have been killed in such incidents and those behind free were moving freely.

Elaborating further he termed the Country insecure for the minorities and warned government for initiating the series of countrywide protests, if the murderers of the alleged Emmanuel brothers were not detained.

While addressing the occasion, the other leaders stressed the government, to facilitate minorities as per theory of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

The MCP leaders demanded to amend the Article 195 of the constitution related to the Blasphemy. They mentioned that in recent days scores of Ahmedis, Hindus, Christians and other minority members were killed and kidnapped for ransom, and warned government for adopting direct measures if government fails to put an ear on their demands.
