The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's 62nd Annual Convention begins today at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
I will be in attendance and will be reporting on the weekend's conference. Please continue to visit this page for updates as the day progresses.
Today's activities commence at 2:00pm with the Friday Prayer (Juma) service, being led by Mr. Naseem Mahdi, Vice President and Missionary Incharge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. This is the same Naseem Mahdi who just recently announced the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's new "Muslims for Peace" campaign.
After the Friday prayer service, the opening session of the weekend-long convention commences at 4:30 with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a poem and then the following three speeches:
Allah, the Great Forgiver
Bai'at - the Guardian of our Identity in the West
Trials - Sources of Divine Favors and Wrath
The convention is free and open to the public. So anyone in the Virginia area should stop by and watch any part that they would like to witness.
Complimentary dinner will be served at 7:00pm.
