UK: Bedfordshire Muslims condemn Quran burning

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association has commented following the plans to burn the book by Dove World Outreach Centre church in Gainesville, Florida. The plans are currently on hold according to the church pastor Terry Jones.

Amercian church's plan described as "provactive act"

Muslims in Bedford have issued a call for peace and understanding, following the threat of an American church to burn copies of the Quran.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association has commented following the plans to burn the book by Dove World Outreach Centre church in Gainesville, Florida. The plans are currently on hold according to the church pastor Terry Jones.


Abdul Sami, the regional president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association who is based in Bedford, said: "These few unfortunate Christians planning this ghastly act need to ask themselves whether they truly belong to Jesus (peace be upon him) for he was a prophet of peace.

"We appeal to this church to abandon this provocative act that will offend billions of people of all faiths around the world."
