KOCHI: You can find books of all hues as you step into the Ernakulathappan Ground where the International Book Festival is going on. Book lovers can browse for new editions or look out for the ones they have missed out and cash in on the best of the exhibits.
It is being organised by the Kendra Sahitya Academy in association with Kochi International Book Festival Committee. An all-India Writers Meet in which writers from all over India participated ended on Monday.
The International Book Fair began with about 225 stalls representing over 200 publishers besides stalls put up by several journals and news dailies.
All major publishers have put up their stalls. You will be amazed by the huge national collection and the international books that are on display. “This book fair is useful to all age groups as it includes religious, moral and educational books. There are many books on career opportunities, which are useful to youth,” says Nashna, a college student.
Books on Osho are also on display. “His books have been written by his followers who had listened to his speeches,” said Sylvia, staff of Osho Glimpse.
Like all book fairs, the children’s section is the biggest attraction with plenty of CDs and story books. There is an interesting collection of Sanskrit books. The Department of Advertising and Visual Publicity and publications of the WHO have made it to the fair in large numbers.
There are separate stalls for children which include cartoons and CDs of rhymes and story books.

Views endorsing Rama, Buddha, as well as Jesus as prophets of God and Prophet Mohammed teaching about Krishna are well described.
The festival will run through December 6.
