Qadian, India: 3 Day Muslim Convention Concluded By World Leader

“We follow absolutely the teachings and guidance of the Promised Messiah, so let it be clear that we Ahmadi Muslims have no interest in forming a government, our only desires are that a relationship develops between mankind and God Almighty and secondly that man comes to respect and observe the rights of his fellow man. For this we strive and will continue to strive.” [His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad]

Head of Community Concludes 3 Day Muslim Annual Convention with Powerful Address

The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, yesterday concluded the three day Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, India. His Holiness addressed over 17,000 delegates in Qadian, India, via MTA International from the Baitul Futuh Mosque, London. His Holiness spoke about the continued persecution faced by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in numerous countries and also about how Islam’s name was being tarnished by the terrorist activities of so called Muslims across the world.

His Holiness began his address by speaking of how whenever a Prophet has come, worldly leaders have sought to oppose him due to their fear that their own power bases could decline. Thus they always utilised their full efforts to try and stop the spread of the Prophet’s message, even though all Prophets of God come only for the benefit of their people and nations. In the same way the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian was sent by God to develop true brotherhood and mutual respect throughout the world. He sought no worldly power or government.

Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad said:

“We follow absolutely the teachings and guidance of the Promised Messiah, so let it be clear that we Ahmadi Muslims have no interest in forming a government, our only desires are that a relationship develops between mankind and God Almighty and  secondly that man comes to respect and observe the rights of his fellow man. For this we strive and will continue to strive.”

His Holiness then commented about current day issues of terrorism and extremism:

“The cruel people in Pakistan, in India, in Indonesia or in other countries cannot escape God’s punishment. However we, Ahmadis, feel great sorrow that in this era, the majority of such cruelties are conducted by so called Muslims in the name of God and His Prophet Muhammad and thereby are tarnishing the pure name of Islam.”

His Holiness said that the cure to the strife witnessed in today’s world was simply for the people of the world to adopt good morals and righteousness. Simply uttering words was not enough, we would be judged on our deeds. Thus he said that there were so called Muslims who rejoiced at the fact that they were part of the ‘Ummat’ (Muslim community) and thus felt that they had been granted a licence whereby no matter what cruelties or injustices they administered they would continue to receive God’s love and rewards. However, His Holiness said that they were mistaken in their beliefs. He said:

“These people claim to be righteous, but is it righteous to kill children, women, the elderly, the infirm and other innocent people through bomb attacks? Is it righteous to prepare and brainwash young children into suicide bomb attacks? These are all cruel attacks that have nothing to do with goodness or decency.”

His Holiness concluded by stating that all of God’s Prophets were granted Divine Signs in their favour and the same was being witnessed today in favour of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian. The history of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat showed that the evil designs of its opponents had always been frustrated.

His Holiness ended by praying for those Ahmadi Muslims who had been martyred and for their families; he prayed for the Ahmadi Muslims who were in jail simply due to their choice of faith; he prayed for those Ahmadi Muslims who had been recently kidnapped and he prayed for all people suffering in the world.
