Maryland, USA: A stimulating American adventure has begun as Britain’s committed Real Talk team hit Washington town for its brand new US series last week.

Bursting with enthusiasm, the team has warmly been embraced by the American community as it became the new kid on the block.

With the aim of expanding the show on an international level through recording in the US and with training on offer for members of the local youth, the brand new series kicked off with a programme on America’s sports industry.

To the satisfaction of the team members, the first show proved to be a success as it generated discussions among the panel members and the audience involved. “A nice gentle programme to start the series off, ” some of the main issues debated on the show included match-fixing, drug use by sports players and youth participation in sports, confirmed the presenter of Real Talk, Ghaalib Khan.

The talk show is aimed specifically at engaging dialogue between youth on current social issues affecting the modern world today and is one of the few shows targeted at youth to be aired on Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (MTA).

Eager participants have been grasping the opportunity of becoming an important ingredient in the all-new improving recipe that has tasted global success since the show piloted its first series in 2009.

The new series has witnessed a good turn-out in audience numbers and local members of the youth who have volunteered to be trained in filming, editing and setting up the studio equipment. Their sacrifices are admired by the team as they travel from far distances to take part.

“The people I've met here are fantastic, they're bursting with enthusiasm and the fact that we've come here from the UK is inspiring them a lot.

“They’re so warm hearted and very hospitable,” said Ghaalib.

The team are geared up to further invigorate the merits of the show by travelling across America with the aim of educating and training the locals, not forgetting the underlying purpose of helping to build on the team’s inspiration to further propel the show to new heights.

Other social issues that have been discussed on the new series include urban life and inner city problems, health and food and experiences of new converts in the States.

Pleasing the aspirations of many American youngsters, the Real Talk team is set to venture further into their new project in Philadelphia and New York this week when more provocative topics will be debated on the show.
