USA: Perhaps we should hold hearings on Muslim “stereotypization.” | Letter to Editor

The only outcomes from these hearings will be confusion and widespread mistrust of the peace-loving American Muslim community, of which I am a proud member.

Rep. Peter King's decision to hold government hearings on the “radicalization” of Muslims in America confuses me. Will his inquiry include the thousands of American Muslims in the U.S. Armed Forces defending our country?

What about the scores of American Muslims who tipped off intelligence to thwart potential terror plots on U.S. soil?

Will his inquiry ask for testimony from Keith Ellison, an American Muslim serving in our House of Representatives?

The only outcomes from these hearings will be confusion and widespread mistrust of the peace-loving American Muslim community, of which I am a proud member.

Perhaps we should hold hearings on Muslim “stereotypization.”
