LAHORE: Jamaat –e- Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan has said that the west was patronizing blasphemy of the Holy Prophet and desecration of the Holy Quran in a bid to provoke the Muslims.
Addressing an Ulema Convention at the Idara Noor e Haq, Karachi on Sunday, he said that a strong movement based on the Quran and the Sunnah was the need of the society at the moment.
Munawar Hasan said that on one hand, the west talked of inter-faith dialogue but on the other hand, it was trying to create religious hatred. He said it was tragic that the Muslim rulers had also become US slaves.
Mufti Munibur Rahman said that the enemies of Islam believed in the use of force and instead of argument, they were using force against Islam and the Muslims. He said it was imperative to define terrorism. He further said that the Muslims rulers had failed to adopt a common strategy against the enemies of Islam.
Maulana Abdur Rauf held the Muslim rulers responsible for the desecration of the Holy Quran and they would have to account for their conduct. Mufti Usman Yar Khan said that the west was indulging in the desecration of the Quran because it was the Muslims code of life. Allama Yousuf Kasuri said that Terry Jones was not the name of an individual, it was a Satanic philosophy. He said that the best way to avenge desecration was to propagate the Qranic teachings.
Qazi Ahmed Noorani said that those attacking the Quran were showing their hostility towards Islam. whereas the Quran testified the chastity of Maryam (Mary AS). Qari Sher Afzal said that Pakistan had come into being in the name of Islam and not any nationality and we must give up the slogan of nationality to protect this fortress of Islam.
Chairman, Markazi Ruete Hilal Committee, Mufti Minubur Rahman, chief of the Jamait e Ittehadul Ulema, Maulana Abdur Rauf, JUI’s Qari Sher Afzal, JUI(S) s Mufti Usman Yar, Maulana Syed Chiragh ud Din of the Tehrik e Ittehad Ummat, Maulana Tauseef Ahmed of the Tehrik e Khatme Nubuwwat, Jamaat At Dawa’s Engineer Naweed Qamar, Tanzeem e Islami’s Nasimud Din, JUP’s Qazi Ahmed Noorani, Markazi Jamiat e Ahle Hadith’s Allama Yousuf Qasuri, also spoke on the occasion.
