GREEN BAY (WTAQ) - Local Muslims say this is a time for unity as the world celebrates justice and the death of Osama bin Laden.

Spokesman Mustafa Ahmed of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Oshkosh says bin Laden's death is a landmark and first step toward success in the war on terror.

“We are definitely happy that bin Laden was brought to justice" Ahmed said.

Ahmed believes that the relationship between Muslims and Americans will now be stronger and encouraging people to engage dialogue and prayer.

Mohamed Abrahim from the Islamic Center of Wisconsin in Green Bay says bin Laden is responsible for many deaths from Americans to Muslims.

Abrahim says a lot of Americans don’t realize how many Muslims have died, so this will hopefully bring some closure to those who have lost loved ones.

Abrahim says is disappointing that the actions of the few have led to the suffering of the majority.

“We are just hoping this will end a chapter, and we can all start living peacefully.” Abrahim said.
