THE Ahmadiyya Muslim Association’s annual Jalsa Salana UK attracted 29,000 delegates to Oaklands Farm.

Despite the huge turnout and inclement weather leading up to the event, there were no reports of disruption.

The convention brought praise from police and residents alike for the organisation of what is Britain’s largest Muslim gathering.

The attendees at the convention represented 96 countries of the world.

The event started on Friday and the community leaders hoisted Union Jack and Lawai-e Ahmadiyyat, the Ahmadiyya Flag.

Lawai-e Ahmadiyya was hoisted by  Khalifa of Islam, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the spirtual head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Briton's Union Jack was raised by Mr. Rafiq Hayat, UK's National President of the community.

Full story was reported in Alton Herald.

Visitor's comment [Valerie Ward]: "Thanks again to the people of Alton and Hampshire. I traveled from France to attend the convention at Oakland farm.

"I met many old friends from all over the UK and the world. I wish more people could experience and enjoy the fellowship and faith that illuminates this very beautiful part of UK and share the aspirations for peace and cooperation that are encouraged there at this convention."
