On the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA has organized a nationwide "Muslims for Life" campaign with the American Red Cross and Carter BloodCare to collect 10,000 bags of donated blood from Americans of all walks of life.
The campaign is under way this week in 50 cities across the United States, including 12 blood drives in the Dallas area. The goal is to save roughly 30,000 lives with the donated blood.

A prayer service will be held at Bait-ul-Ikram Mosque in Allen on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. with the mayors of Allen and Plano, as well as other dignitaries, in attendance. The blood drive at the mosque will run until 2 p.m.
