QADIAN: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s Worldwide Spiritual Head Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has warned that the world is fast moving towards another world war. Shiraz Ahmad (Secretary, Education Dept, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, India) reading out Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad’s message to the His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI on the second day of three-day Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat said that Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has written to the Pope calling him to use his influence to encourage religious tolerance and establishment of human values throughout the world.
The message was delivered personally by the President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Kababir, Muhammed Sharif Odeh who met the Pope as part of official delegation of renowned religious scholars.In his message to the pope, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad spoke of the perilous state of world. His Holiness concluded his message by praying for world peace and urging all other parties to play their respective roles for this important pursuit.
It is worthwhile to note that the second day of the three day Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat was observed as 'All Religions Conference'. Leaders from various faiths participated and praised the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s efforts to promote mutual love, harmony and world peace. Speaking on the occasion, Swami Shantananda from Ramakrishna Mission said, “ I respect the Ahmadiyya Jamaat which is carrying out the noble objective of uniting people of different faiths”. Speaking on the theme of inter-religious peace, Bishop P.K.Samantaroy said that all of us have to sacrifice something to promote love and peace in this world full of violence.
Addressing the delegates, Swami Kriti Kumar Vyas from Ahmedabad, said that he is having a heavenly feeling staying in this small spiritual town of Qadian. He also praised Jamaat’s efforts during Floods and Earthquake in Gujarat. He invited the Jamaat to organise such conventions in Gujarat as well as several other states of India to promote mutual love and harmony. Several other religious leaders spoke on the theme of inter-religious peace and harmony. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat honoured all the religious leaders with a shawl and a memento.
