Pakistan: State A partner in the Persecution of Ahmadis

Shirjeel Mir a turncoat of PML-N and a local trader is spreading hate against Ahmadis for the past few months. In his latest address to the audience in-front of Ewan-e-Tawheed he said: "I am ready to attack this building (EwaneTawheed) with bombs on my body. I will be killed as a martyr if I succeed in doing so, that is the dream of a true Muslim."

On 28th May, 2010, two mosques belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were attacked in Lahore by terrorists belonging to the Punjab chapter of the Global Islamist Terrorist Networks , killing over 90 Ahmadi Muslims. One of the major reasons was lack of security provided by the Punjab Government.

Just weeks before the attacks we witnessed anti-ahmadi stickers all around Lahore and surrounding areas of Dar-ul-Zikr mosque in Garhi Shahu. Shop keepers placed notices and called for a social boycott of Ahmadis. Several anti-Ahmadi conferences were held in which Ahmadis were declared Wajib-ul-Qatl and enemies of Pakistan. One of such event which is on record was sponsored by the Punjab Government. Days before this blood bath the Ahmadi Mosques were stripped of the CCTV cameras and a very little weaponry that the community had in the name of  ’illegal display of weapons’ & ‘breach of privacy’. The State of Pakistan has always appeased the Mullahs and it continues to do so. Instead of confronting the terrorists of banned outfits the state once again has bowed before the Mullah Cult.

Astonishingly the Local Law enforcing authorities in the Satellite Town of Rawalpindi & Mullahs belonging to the Jamat ud Dawa & Majlis Tahafuze Khatme Nabuwwat, both terrorist outfits yesterday removed   the security cameras installed at Ewan-e-Tawheed after Jumaa Prayers.

It must be noted that Jamaat Ahmadiyya Pakistan took up certain security measures upon the advice of the same Government that now is siding with the potential attackers,  and installed CCTV cameras to monitor any odd activity outside the mosque, and to counter the terrorists which might help in reducing the loss of human life in case of an attack.

It is very clear that the Government of Punjab, the Federal Government & the Punjab Police are not at all interested in tackling the terrorists and are inviting another massacre just to promote the state sponsored persecution of Ahmadis.

In a press release the spokesperson of Ahmadiyya Community in Pakistan Saleem ud Din said:
“The law enforcement agencies appear to be pandering to the miscreants and bending under their pressure. The Ahmadiyya right of worship is seriously in jeopardy. The administration appears to lack resolve leaving the Ahmadis exposed and vulnerable.”

Mr. Saleem ud Din restated the resolve and said:
“Despite threats to the security of Ahmadis, we shall never compromise on our right of worship in front of the One and Almighty Allah”.
It also must be noted that  Al Ufaq has been reporting on this very volatile security situation but the issue has not been reported yet  by any of the mainstream Newspaper or TV channel that clearly shows the major bias of journalism in Pakistan.  The Government of Pakistan must stop the ongoing hate campaign against persecuted Ahmadi citizens of Pakistan. We fear more aggression from the terrorists of Majlis Tahaffuz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwwat, JuD etc in the days to come. In case of any attack, loss of life or property of Ahmadis, Punjab Government and Punjab Police & the proxies of the State that nurture these ‘strategic assets’  must be deemed responsible.
