UK: Khalifa of Islam to offer solutions for war-bound world

A Message of Peace and a Word of Warning: Flames of War Must be Extinguished to Avoid Global Conflict, Warns Islamic Leader

LONDON (via PRNewswire) -- The 9th. annual National Peace Symposium at Western Europe's biggest mosque is scheduled to go as planed on March 24.

An urgent call to stem the tide of regional conflicts and to counter extremism by tackling the root causes will be made in London's Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden.

Ministers, MPs, diplomats, Mayors - including London Mayor Boris Johnson - religious and civic leaders will hear a stark warning about the path of self-destruction upon which the world seems set, the community announced in a press statement today.

The  Khalifa of Islam and the head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has continuously cautioned the the world leaders about the runaway injustices in the world.

"These days we find that widespread conflict and hatred has permeated all parts of the world and so there is an urgent need for mutual love, affection and mercy to be spread," the world Muslim leader said.

Offering solutions and hope, Hazrat Ahmad says, "... the world can be saved from the horrific and terrifying destruction that is fast approaching in the shape of a world war."

According to the event organizers, a multicultural and multifaith gathering of 500 will join the 9th National Symposium on International Peace.

The event is organised annually by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey, which can hold 10,000 worshippers.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim community, one of the oldest Islamic communities in Britain, is at the vanguard of a peace-drive which, the community says, seeks to expound the true peaceful message of Islam.

The community is well recognized for holding blood donation drives, charity events, and numerous other interfaith meetings to dispel misconceptions about Islam and to promote service to humanity.

This year the International Peace Prize will be awarded to SOS Children's Villages UK - a charity that has excelled in the field of service to humanity by working tirelessly to provide life-changing opportunities for tens of thousands of vulnerable children.

SOS Children's Villages UK has performed in some of the most difficult and challenging areas of the world, such as in Chile, Zambia, Malawi Ivory Coast..

Rt Hon Ed Davey MP - Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change; Andrew Stunnell MP, the Minister for Communities, members of the House of Lords, MPs and a number of diplomats will be among those attending the Peace Symposium.
