PORT HOPE -- As part of a nationwide campaign, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association of Canada will be making a stop in Port Hope.
Members of the association, which is an auxiliary wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, will be stopping at the Port Hope Public Library at 31 Queen St. on June 16 from noon to 4 p.m.
The goal of the campaign is to promote peace, condemn terrorism and dispel myths about Islam. In the last 17 months, 3,581 volunteers have toured Canada, visiting more than 230 communities.
The stop in Port Hope will also feature 'The Holy Qur' exhibition: a discussion about Muhammad.
