USA: Mosque to open in Pikesville’s Jewish community
Jewish community leaders say they are trying to show the Ahmadi congregation that Pikesville will welcome them. After some people expressed fears about the mosque, neighbors contacted the Muslim group and encouraged members to introduce themselves to the community.

PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) –A mosque is preparing to open in the heart of the Jewish community in Pikesville.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the Baltimore congregation of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam has bought the Slade Mansion at Slade and Park Heights avenues.
Jewish community leaders say they are trying to show the Ahmadi congregation that Pikesville will welcome them. After some people expressed fears about the mosque, neighbors contacted the Muslim group and encouraged members to introduce themselves to the community.
In 2008, Ahmadi Muslims were blocked from building a worship center in Frederick County after residents complained about crowded roads.
