UPDATE (8:55 AM PDT) : The latest report indicate that the victim has not expired. The target of attempted killing, Aslam Bhatti, is in a hospital and listed in very critical condition.
Karachi (Saeedabad, Baldia town) – Aslam Bhatti, an Ahmadi Muslim, owner of a computer shop is killed by religious fanatics who showered bullets on his shop located on Shahrah-e-Waqas, Sec 5J Saeedabad.
Due to fear, no one came near to save him, an ambulance was called and was brought to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital, but he succumbed to bullet injuries and excessive bleeding.
The locality is a hub of various Deobandi Madrassas, where activities of Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (AMTKN) were intensified in recent days. Graffiti of threatening slogans against Ahmedis can be seen on the walls. The incitement to violence has resulted in the violent incident.
It must be noted that, Darul uloom Suffa, a Sipah Sahaba (SSP, ASWJ, LeJ) affiliated madressa is in the vincinity, its principal Qari Haq Nawaz is known for fiery speeches inciting sectarian hatred. He has been accused of forcibly capturing many barelvi mosques. His son Qari Shoaib was arrested in a case of carrying illegal weapons, nowadays frequently appear in religious shows of ARY One news and others.
The madressa also is centre of SSP, ASWJ and TTP activists. Last year, Umair, a student of Darul uloom Suffa was killed by the rangers, when an attempt of bank robbery was foiled in Ali gadh bazar, Banaras, Orangi town.
The terrorists have been given a license to kill Shias and Ahmedis for their loyalty to Pakistan and Pakistan Army for not committing attacks on their offices and installations, and for refusing to be a part of ISI formed Difae Pakistan Council.
It is very disheartening to see channels and social media not mentioning that the victim was an Ahmadi Muslim and the incident will go unnoticed amidst the news of unending violence in the city.
