The head of the international Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spoke to more than 5,000 women in Harrisburg on Saturday, telling them to be modest, guide their children morally and follow the Quran.

His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, khalifa or leader of what is billed as the largest following of Muslims in the world, later spoke to about 7,000 men also at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s 64th annual convention in the state Farm Show Complex. The convention began Friday and runs through Sunday.

The khalifa emphasized the importance of modesty, warning the women about being affected by any culture that teaches immorality or any behavior against Allah.

"Modesty is part of our faith," he said. "Your veil and religious attire are part of your dignity."
