To honor the victims of 9/11 on its 11th anniversary, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA has launched the second annual “Muslims for Life,” campaign (www.muslimsforlife.org) nationwide to collect 11,000 units of blood and help save as many as 33,000 lives to reiterate the message that Islam values the sanctity of life. The blood drives will be held this year at all our mosques and prayer centers across the nation and in collaboration with other community organizations.

In 2011, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA launched this campaign to honor the victims of 9/11 on its 10th anniversary. Nationwide, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA was able to collect a total of 11,803 pints of blood and thus exceed our goal.

The Holy Quran teaches that life is sacred and reaffirms the Biblical teaching that whoever unjustly kills a single person is as if he had killed all of mankind; and whoever saves the life of one person is as if he has saved the life of all of humanity (5:33). We invite all Americans to join us as we collect blood, to demonstrate the true spirit of peace and collaboration—values that we hold dear in this country (www.muslimsforlife.org).

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, fast growing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spans 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the first American-Muslim organization (www.alislam.org)

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad.

The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
