The Story of Adam, given in different forms by both the Qur'an and the Bible throws up a whole host of pertinent questions in our age- is the creation story of the Bible to be taken literally?; is the account in the Qur'an scientifically accurate? Was Adam literally the first man?; and are either accounts reconcilable with evolution?

The relationship between religion and science, the deeper spiritual meanings of the Story of Adam, the nature of morality, and the purpose of creation are just some of the issues that our Christian and Muslim speakers will be covering in this unique forthcoming Interfaith event.

From among the speakers, Father Michel Le Piouff of Morehouse Chaplaincy (the Catholic Chaplaincy Centre for the Universities of London) will be providing an in-depth analysis from a Christian perspective, including an exposition of the Christian concepts of original sin, lost paradise, created man and woman, human freedom, and more.

Imam Naseem Bajwa of Baitul Futuh Mosque, Morden (the largest mosque in Western Europe) will represent the unique perspective of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community- including Qur’anic proofs that the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was the first prophet, but not the first man; providing a commentary of the Story of Adam that occurred on Earth and not Paradise, showing how the Qur’an supports evolution; as well as delving into the need for prophethood and revelation.

Following on from the two featured talks Rev. Andrew Willson of IC Chaplaincy will be moderating an Interfaith Q & A dialogue session, as well as an open small group Interfaith discussion that we hope will follow the main proceedings.

The event will take place on: Tuesday, 26th February, 6.15- 7.45pm

Huxley Building, Lecture Theatre 311, Imperial College London SW72AZ
