Canada: Will Liberal Justin Trudeau ignite political interest in today’s youth?

“Islam is an open religion which teaches mutual respect. And so if you are a true Muslim, you should be willing and able to integrate in any part of the world.”

I would like to congratulate Justin Trudeau for winning the Liberal Party of Canada leadership position. I hope he is able to rejuvenate a much needed change in the Liberal party and in turn a larger change among Canadians.

Although I am a young enthusiastic voter, I see many youth have little to no concern in Canadian politics. I hope Justin Trudeau is able to ignite a spirit within youth to start caring about politics.

Many claim voices of youth are always drowned out but I believe youth have to make a genuine attempt to raise their voices.

Once Pierre Trudeau said, “Canada will be a strong country when Canadians of all provinces feel at home in all parts of the country.” Last year, Justin Trudeau met the leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in which he said he is working to eliminate all forms of “Islamophobia” in our society and to promote integration.

His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community replied, “Islam is an open religion which teaches mutual respect. And so if you are a true Muslim, you should be willing and able to integrate in any part of the world.”

As an Ahmadi Muslim, I believe Muslims should try their utmost to integrate and contribute to the positive aspects of the Canadian society regardless of the city or province so Pierre Trudeau’s dream of Canadians feeling at home in any part of the country can be fulfilled.
