An outstanding scheme is put together by the Ahmadiyya Muslim youth who distributed school supplies to the children of cancer patients in Ernakulam, Kerala, India.
The scheme was initiated to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee year of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, India (Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Bharat), by the association’s local chapters in Ernakulam Zone.
The event was held on 12th May 2013 at Masjid Umar in Ernakulam.
The community’s zonal president, B.B.Ahmad Kabeer, and South area president of the Youth Association, E.H. Najeeb, were present at the occasion.
According to local reports, the Association, in consultation with the Cancer Department of Government General Hospital in Ernakulam, prepared a list of children of cancer patients who are in dire need of help.
None of the recipients were Ahmadis and they belonged to different caste and creed, it was reported.
The School Kit worth Rs.1000 each, included bag, note books, umbrella, dictionary and other related items for the academic year.
Any students who had difficulty in reaching the venue due to illnesses, the organizers say, they delivered the kit at their homes.
“Indeed it is a well thought off program, to serve the underprivileged,” wrote Shahid Parvez, interfaith outreach specialist and a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
