London: -- 47th International Ahmadiyya Muslim Convention commenced here today in Hadeeqa-tul Mehdi, Alton, UK.
The worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Hadhrat (His Holiness) Mirza Masroor Ahmad hoisted the Ahmadiyya flag while the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in the UK, Mr. Rafiq Hayat hoisted the Union Jack.
Jalsa Salana (annual convention) proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Hadhrat Ahmad addressed the Jalsa salana participants in the opening session which was broadcast live via the community’s worldwide television network, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA).
In his addressed that was watched in over two hundred countries of the word, His Holiness reminded the worldwide audience to follow the true teachings of Islam.
Ahmadiyya Muslim leader expressed his worries about the prevailing situation in most Muslim countries of the world.
His Holiness warned the world that if situation remain same, there is significant possibility of flare-ups that could lead to a world war.
After the opening address His Holiness took his hands for silent prayer and thousands of Ahmadiyya Muslims followed his lead and joined the prayer.
The concluding ceremony will take place on 1st September
