The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Organisation, Ghana, has held its 34th annual national rally at Agona Swedru in the Central Region with a call on Muslim youth to be the embodiment of Islam in order to attract non-believers.
The three-day event, which was attended by about 3,196 youth from various parts of the country, was on the theme: ‘’Nations cannot be reformed without the reformation of the youth’’.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr Abass Bin Wilson, national president of the organisation, said the rally marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the organisation worldwide.
Touching on the theme, he stated that the youth were the backbone of every society, and stressed that like the human body, the entire body would have no option but to share in the unbearable situation that may arise, should the backbone suffer any defect.
Mr Wilson noted that the youth constituted the engine of growth of the society, and that the economic growth and development of the country could not be achieved without them.
According to him, Ghana as a country needed to take a critical look at the plight of the youth so that the country might safeguard herself from any future qualms.
Mr Wilson explained that if the youth were able to improve and reform themselves, it won’t only benefit them but would also be a means for them to serve the nation.
Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, Naib Ameer (II) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, called on the youth to put into practice what they had learnt which was intended to sharpen their spiritual life, as well as to enable them to lead moral lives.
