Kashmir, India: 14th annual Ahmadiyya elders' convention closes with pledge and prayers
The national president said that the teachings of the Prophet emphasise peace and universal brotherhood and if everyone was to implement the teachings in their lives with true spirit, "the world is sure to become a place of peace for all."

The 14th. Annual Regional Convention -2013 of Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association (Majlis Ansarullah) of Kashmir came to an end here yesterday.
The two-day event that began on Saturday, September 7th, in the morning ended on Sunday in the evening.
"The highlights of the Ijtema [convention], besides various academic and sports competitions, were some very interesting and special programs such as Quiz contests and a special discussion forum," said a press release issued after the event by the program coordinators .
The convention was attended by elders of the valley of Kashmir in great numbers and a good number of youth and younger children also benefited, said Prof. Mahmood Ahmad Tak, Regional Nazim of Majlis Ansarullah Kashmir, in the press release.
Along with the regional and local leadership, all religious scholars and missionaries of the community were specially invited to attend the convention.
Several representatives of Majlis Ansarullah Bharat also attended the event.
The national president of Majlis Ansarullah Bharat, Qari Nawab Ahmad, presided over the opening and closing sessions of the event.
In his closing address Qari Nawab Ahmad related some important events from the Life of the Holy Founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (saw).
Qari Ahmad impressed upon the audience to emulate the life of the Prophet as a model and be mindful of others rights.
The national president said that the teachings of the Prophet emphasise peace and universal brotherhood and if everyone was to implement the teachings in their lives with true spirit, "the world is sure to become a place of peace for all."
Qari Nawab Ahmad impressed upon the elders that they should not only themselves act upon advice they have heard but also convey these things to others.
The event concluded with the attendees reciting their pledge to serve in the cause of God and offering prayers for those present as well as absent.
