NAIROBI experienced two explosions on Friday, as people continued to suffer the pains of the tragic terror attacks to shoppers at Westgate last Saturday. Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat –Tanzania, Sheikh Mohmood Chaudhry has said that all operatives under the pretext of Islam should be punished accordingly.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam on Friday, Sheikh Chaudhry who also doubles as leader and missionary in-charge to the Ahamadiyya Muslim community in the country said hurting or killing innocent civilians was totally unacceptable and against the Islamic teachings.

The cleric was making reference to the most recent Kenya’s terrorist attack at the West Gate Shopping Mall in Nairobi saying that Islam is a religion of peace, unity and compassion.
As gesture of solidarity, the cleric said Ahamadiyya community members would donate blood for Kenya victims during its annual gathering scheduled for Friday-Sunday (September 290.

The gathering would be held at Ahamaadiyya’s Kitonga grounds inviting over 3,000 participants from across Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Malawi and Burundi. “What happened in Nairobi attack lasting between Saturday and Monday this week is completely against the fundamental principles and teachings of Islam as violence is not part of the teachings,” said the cleric.

Adding; “Our prophet, Mohamed instructed us to preach peace, love and harmony. These foolish terrorists have no right to upset peace and stability in the region under the pretext of defending Islam …they are not true Muslims,” Chaudhry observed.

The latest criticism by the high-profile Muslim cleric comes as Kenyan security forces were on Monday engaged in a fierce and final battle with armed Somali terrorists inside the shopping Mall in Nairobi. Huge explosions and a barrage of heavy gunfire echoed from the complex.

According to Kenya’s and international media reports, thick cloud of black smoke billowed from the Westgate supermarket structure as Kenyan officials said the 50-hour-siege which has claimed 62 lives and a few dozens others taken hostage was being resolved.
