KNOX residents were among about 50 members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Victoria who were invited to join Melbourne’s official Australia Day parade for the first time this year.
Wantirna South resident Omar Saleem, 39, was honoured to be part of the festivities and walked alongside his daughter Nysha, 11.
The father of two migrated to Australia from Pakistan together with his wife Shazia.
“For me, our national day is very near and dear since we moved to Australia 10 years ago – It’s our home now,” Mr. Saleem said.
