An Ahmadi man was shot at and killed by unknown assailants in Aurangi Town area of Karachi, Pakistan, on Saturday, February 8, 2014.
The victim has been identified as 27 years old Raziullah Din, Son of Muhammad Hussein Mukhtar, of Ogervi Colony.
According to a press statement released by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Pakistan, Raziullah Din, accompanied by his wife and nephew, had just left their house around 2:30 pm when two unknown assailants on motorcycles began firing at him and one of the bullets hit his neck and damaged his windpipe.
Din's wife rushed him to nearby Abassi Shaheed Hospital where "despite the best efforts of the medical staff" he could not be revived, the statement stated.
The deceased is survived by his wife and a two year old daughter. His remains will be laid to rest in Rabwah.
Victim was employed by factory which manufactured socks.
Mr. Salimud Din, national spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Pakistran, expressed his grief at this latest killing and said that in the past year seven Ahmadis have been killed on account of their faith, six of whom were killed in Karachi.
Salimud Din noted that members of the Kiyani family had in the past been made the target of sectarian violence in Aurangi Town area and that the majority of incident involving Ahmadis in Karachi occurred in this locality.
"[I]t was obvious from this that there is an organized and coordinated effort to target Ahmadis in this way," Salimud Din said. "[T]he sacrifices Ahmadis are being made to make only serve to strengthen their resolve."
"No amount of terrorist acts would weaken the community, nor would any Ahmadi waver in the face of such atrocities," the Ahmadiyya statement added.
The community alleged that groups and organizations who associate themselves with 'Khatme Nubuwwat' movement openly issue fatwas declaring Ahmadis deserving of death.
Ppponents of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community regularly publish and distribute hate materials which direct people to boycott and suggests killing Ahmadis.
The relevant government institutions, it has been observed, take no notice of the anti-Ahmadi hate materials and as a result Ahmadis continue to be killed.
The Ahmadiyya spokesperson urged the authorities to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice as soon as possible.
