Perspective: Punishing the innocent

It seems the governments and the opposition forces in many Muslim nations are focused entirely on their vested interests. They have blatantly disregarded the teachings of the religion they claim to follow and continue to commit atrocities.

Re “‘Barrel bombs’ fall from sky” (Feb. 3): The situation in Syria continues to deteriorate.

Unfortunately, amongst the Muslim nations, Syria is not the only example of a nation where great cruelties are being perpetrated.

Lamenting the situation of Muslim nations, the leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Mirza Masroor Ahmad has said “For the sake of either retaining power or gaining power, the government and opposition are both actively destroying the children of their nation.”

It seems the governments and the opposition forces in many Muslim nations are focused entirely on their vested interests. They have blatantly disregarded the teachings of the religion they claim to follow and continue to commit atrocities.

As an Ahmadi Muslim, I am grateful to God for the peace and tranquility we enjoy in Canada. (Amen)
