Canada: Thousands attend 1st day of Ahmadiyya Muslim Annual Convention in Toronto
The First day of Jalsa started with Friday prayers, led by Mr. Lal Khan Malik where an estimated 7000 members of the community attended the Friday service.

The 38th Annual Convention of Jama’at Ahmadiyya (AMJ) Canada started on June 20th, 2014, at the International Centre, located about 30 km South-West of Baitul Islam Mosque, near the Toronto Pearson Airport.
The hall space rented for Jalsa Salana was 700,000 square feet or 16 acres spread across six halls, it was reported by the Bangla Desk of AMJ Canada.
Jalsa Salana Canada 2014 began with the hoisting of Lawaiy Ahmadiyyat, the Flag of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, and the flag of Canada, by National Missionary In-charge Canada, Maulana Mubarik Nazir Ahmad and National President of AMJ Canada, Mr. Lal Khan Malik.
Mr. Lal Khan Malik also led the silent prayers after the flag hoisting.

In the first session of Jalsa Missionary Peel Region, Maulana Afzal Mirza was the first speaker and delivered a speech on "The Promised Messiah, a Follower Prophet". Next speaker Dr Saleemur Rahman spoke on "The Holy Quran - witness to the truth of the promised Messiah" and the final speech was by Missionary Peace Village, Maulana Farhan Iqbal entitled "The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) on his Messiah".
The session was followed by dinner service.
