More than 500 people from the North Huddersfield Community celebrated Eid in Fartown
Muslims gathered at the new mosque at Spaines Road, Fartown, for traditional Eid celebrations.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association celebrated the end of the blessed month of Ramadan by inviting members and friends to join together.
The religious celebration was hosted at Baitul Tauhid, The Pavilion, on Wednesday.
Around 500 men, women and children attended following the last day of fasting, which is obligatory for all able-bodied Muslims from dawn until sunset throughout the Islamic month of Ramadan.
President of Huddersfield North Branch, Munir Ahmed, said: “The spirit of Eid is for Muslims to reflect on one’s condition of spiritual improvement and resolve and not lose what one has gained but rather to preserve what one has maintained and move forward to even higher spiritual development through righteous conduct, prayers and seeking the Grace of God.”
The event is a great celebration for muslims where they have new clothes and exchange gifts, sweets and money.
