A street party was organised by the local Ahmadiyya Muslims in Croydon to celebrate Eidul Azha and introduce Ahmadiyya, the true Islam to the local community.
Over 80 people attended the gathering on Saturday, October 11, and expressed their appreciation for the Ahmadi Muslims and said they were pleased that the Ahmadiyya community was taking practical initiatives to promote peace and cohesion within the community.
Local MP, Gavin Barwell, also attended the party and he was introduced to the local Ahmadiyya community and their Mosque at St. James’s road. He was made aware of the challenges and persecution faced by the Ahmadiyya communities in Pakistan, Indonesia and other countries.
The neighbours and friends who attended the party were served luncheon and they enjoyed a day meeting other neighbours as well as learning new things about Islam.
The Street Party program was organized by the London South Region's Majlis Ansarullah, an auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community. The auxiliary organized similar programs at three locations.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has shown through their perseverance of obtaining peace, with their motto of ‘Love For All Hatred For None’, their loyalty to the citizens of Great Britain, regardless of creed or colour, and that they are here to stay.
They have shown an unwavering sense of love, continuously giving without ever asking for anything in return, aside from acceptance and that those around them try to understand them, with open minds and hearts.
