MULTAN: The Lahore High Court Multan bench directed police to resubmit their final report on quashing of a blasphemy case against former Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, Sherry Rehman.

Justice Ibadur Rehman Lodhi issued the direction on Friday on a petition filed by Fahim Akhtar Gill.

The petitioner told the court that an FIR, under section 295-C, was lodged with Chahliyak police on the direction of Supreme Court but the police had quashed the case without interrogating the suspect.

While setting aside the quashing order of the area magistrate, Justice Lodhi directed the police to submit its charge-sheet/final report under section 173 to the sessions judge.
