Re: Ottawa Man’s ISIS Video Urges Attacks On Home Soil, Dec. 8.

Recently, Canada has been experiencing a series of threats from ISIS. Being one of the many Canadian Muslims who love this great country of ours, these developments deeply trouble me. I would like to assure my fellow Canadians that groups such as ISIS do not represent Islam. These militant groups are trying to create a divide amongst Canadians, but I am optimistic that their actions and threats will ultimately unite us further.

A nationwide campaign called “Stop the CrISIS” was initiated by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, in order to remove misconceptions regarding Islam, denounce terrorism and unite the Canadian Muslim and non-Muslim populations. Speaking on this initiative, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said, “How important it was that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat categorically and unequivocally condemned both the actions themselves and the terrorists who committed those acts.”

I would humbly request my fellow Canadians to support this initiative taken by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and stand up to groups such as ISIS. It is during our time of struggle where we find strength. Our strength is in our numbers and unity in defending Canada.
