In the fight against Ebola, several dozen youth members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association of South Region scheduled and carried out a walk in the hopes of raising money for the renowned charity Humanity First.

The walk took place at the community's Croydon Mosque, Baitus Subhan on St James' Road in West Croydon, where about 85 members of the community's youth arrived to take part in the event. The 5Km walk began immediately after the morning (Fajr) prayers just before dawn, whereafter the boys from the community's auxiliary organisations, Khuddam-ul Ahmadiyya and Atfal-al Ahmadiyya, braced themselves against the icy chill of the day to effectively help in fight against the deadly virus.

According to the organizers, participants ranged from under fifteen to forty years of age, and they managed to raise nearly £900, with £110 in cash and the rest in commitments for later payments.

The members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community have surprised the locals with their kindness and dedication to help those in need as per the teachings of their religion. It is with good intentions that they actively go out to help the less fortunate and they prove to be excellent members of society as well as a credit to the UK and Croydon.

It is with great confidence that the community awaits to see what they will do next to further act as an example to the rest of London.

The community hopes that others will follow their exemplary behaviour, especially in the fight against Ebola, and the community joins them in their prayers for those who have been struck with the virus and for he loved ones of all who are afflicted.

In their sincere demonstration of their teaching and propagation of peace and love of God and love of humanity, the London Borough of Croydon can only hope for more Ahmadi residents and their positive and peaceful outlook towards the world.
