Qadian: Khilafat Day celebrations were held today at Masjid Aqsa by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Qadian where hundreds of Ahmadi Muslims had gathered to listen to the speakers.
Muneer Ahmad Hafizabadi, Secretary Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Qadian presided over the event and various able speakers highlighted the importance of this day commonly referred to as Youm-e Khilafat and celebrated by Ahamdi Muslims at local, regional and national levels.
The speakers reiterated that the Muslims who should have been united and be in harmony, are divided in countless sects and divisions and with such schism, they are unable to achieve anything in the world.
The speakers stressed the logical need of the Muslim world, to unite on the hand of one Imam, which they identified as the system of Khilafat as was once established after the sad demise of the Holy Founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). Khilafat is the successorship after the Prophet and the Khalifa is the vicegerent and his subordinate.
On the other hand, in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community -- now 160 millions strong and established in 206 countries and territories of the world -- the system of Khilafat has been established for well over one hundred years. The first Khalifa of Islam Ahmadiyya, Hazrat Moulana Hakim Noor-ud Din, was elected on May 27, 1908 after the sad demises of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah and the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Hazrat Ahmad established the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 1889 when 40 individuals took pledge at his hand to dedicate their lives to reestablish the unity of God, and fulfill the rights of God and serve His mankind. There were less than one million Ahmadi Muslims at that time of Hazrat Ahmad's demise.
The Ahmadiyya Mulsim Community had enjoyed the blessing of a continuous leaderships and it is currently led by His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who is the 5th successor of the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.
In Qadian today all Ahmadiyya Jamaat institutions were closed for the Khilafat Day observance.
Lajna Bharat also organized Jalsa Youm-e Khilafat in Lajna Hall near Ahmadiyya Ground.
