USA: First-of-its-kind mosque opens in Coon Rapids | Video

COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- A first-of-its-kind mosque has opened in Minnesota.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim community inaugurated the Nusrat Mosque in Coon Rapids Saturday.

Ahmadiyya Muslims are the only Islamic organization to believe that the Messiah has already come and are often not recognized by other Muslims.

Many community leaders attended the event along with Congressman Keith Ellison.

The new mosque welcomed Muslims from all around the state with a banner reflecting the belief of the community.

Rep. Keith Ellison gave the keynote address at the ceremony, and visitors were given tours of the new center.[Star Tribune]
