USA: Imam Shamshad of Glen Ellyn, Chicago hosts area religious leaders on May 27
On 27th of May each year, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community observes Khilafat Day to commemorate this institution which began on the same date in 1908 after the demise of the community's founder.

On Wednesday, May 27, Imam Shamshad A. Nasir of Bait ul Jamm'e Mosque in Glen Ellyn invited other religious leaders of the area for a good-will get-together and together they pledged to cooperate with each other in matters of community and interfaith services, the foremost being the homelessness in the area.
Imam Shamshad was joined by eleven religious leaders of Glen Ellyn area and they were all concerned about the people down on their luck and living on the streets. The leaders committed they will continue to seek out ways to mitigate the community's hardships.
Imam Shamshad took the opportunity to enlighten the attendees about the importance of May 27 in Islam-Ahmadiyya and the blessing the Ahmadiyya institution of Khilafat has brought to the world.
On the 27th of May each year, Imam Shamshad explained, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community observes Khilafat Day to commemorate this institution which began on the same date in 1908 after the demise of the community's founder.
Imam Shamshad said that the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has enjoyed the enormous successes due to the leadership it has been blessed with for over one hundred years now and the fruits can be seen in 206 countries and territories of the world where over 160 million Ahmadis continuously strive to serve the humanity.
Imam Shamshad shared with the attendees about the local progress of the community and recent activities at the mosque, including the Sierra Leone Independence Day observation held two weeks ago.
The Imam invited fellow religious leaders to bring their congregations for a visit to the mosque, specially during the upcoming month of Ramadhan.
