The tragedy in Chattanooga, Tenn., is a huge loss. Not only did we lose four heroes, but humanity on a whole lost four precious brave lives. Living so close to the Concord naval weapons station and Military Ocean and Terminal Concord (MOTCO), the close proximity and relationship to armed forces have become a part of our community, identity, and pride. To hear that our American heroes were targeted on our own land is indeed deplorable.
Any loss of life is a huge loss and tragedy in every culture, community, and religion. Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez was a troubled youth with a criminal record leading him to this attack. This act of his can never be justified under any law whether be it secular or religious. Prophet Muhammad clearly commanded Muslims to be loyal to their land of residence. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has run many campaigns nationwide such as Muslims for Loyalty and Muslims for Peace urging all creed, religions, and cultures in America to work as one.
Many Ahmadi Muslim’s serve the U.S. Armed Forces and have made an outcry on social media platforms condemning this horrendous act. They show us that American Muslims who serve our great nation condemn the inhumanity by extremists. Love for humanity helps you achieve love of God, a lesson taught by the Prophet Muhammad. A loss of a life is a loss of the entire humanity. Our sincere prayers with the families who lost their loved ones. May their souls rest in peace.
