I was recently in Harrisburg, Pa., along with thousands of other men, women and children who came together from across the country pledging allegiance to peaceful Caliph, fifth successor of the Messiah of this age. This was at the 67th annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA.
One of my take-home messages from this convention was how one should strive toward peace in our personal lives.
Annual conventions in Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were started in 1901 by the founder of the community.
Now these conventions are held in more than 28 countries around the globe every year. In August alone, these conventions are held in the United States, U.K., Canada and Bosnia. One purpose is to provide a platform for anyone interested to learn about true peaceful Islam.
Khalifa (Caliph) of Islam, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, is the champion of Islam’s true message of peace. He disseminates this message wherever he goes to whomever meets him. His concept of peace is strongly tied with absolute justice, a corner stone of Islamic faith.
On Aug. 23, Ahmadi Muslims around the world revived their pledge of allegiance to this peaceful Caliph live through MTA International. This allegiance asks for sacrifice for the sake of service to humanity.
It reminds everyone that he who is not thankful to fellow humans is not thankful to God. This is the true message of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
