USA: Ahmadiyya Muslims hold Peace Symposium 2016 in Chicago
Guests were invited to speak also. Talwar Singh, member of Sikh community and the Sheriff of DuPage County availed the opportunity and appreciated the efforts of the Ahmadiyya community

Ahmadiyya Muslim community Chicago arranged Peace Symposium 2016 on Saturday, April 2nd 2016. Invitations were sent to the people from all walks of life. A tremendous response was received and a great number of people, irrespective of religion, creed and color, gathered to attend this event.
The event started with recitation and translation of few verses of the Holy Qura'an by Imam Azam Akram.
Munum Naeem, the national vice-president of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, was the moderator for this event. He started with a short introduction of the Ahmadiyya Community, who believe that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is the promised Messiah of this age. He further mentioned the efforts of the Ahmadiyya community towards establishing peace in societies and the world by being loyal to the countries they are living in, campaigns of Muslims for peace, Muslims for loyalty and Muslims for Life blood donations campaigns after the tragedy of 911. Efforts from the platform of Hunity First were also mentioned. A brief introduction of the keynote speaker Sir Iftikhar Ahmed Ayaz from UK was also presented.
He thanked all the religious leaders and mentioned that Ahmadiyya community is the largest and only Muslim community gathered under the one divine leadership.
A video recording also played at the Peace Symposium described Islam, Caliphate, respect for other religions, what is Islam Ahmadiyya and how it is contributing towards peace in the world. The video showed Ahmadiyya worldwide leader, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad's meeting with leading personalities of the world in various countries, comments from the prominent leaders, Ahmdiyya slogan "Love for All, Hatred for None etc.
All the guests seemed to watched the video with keen interest.
Tayyib Rashid, a young speaker serving in the US marines enlightened the "True Islam" campaign from Ahmadiyya platform.
Tayyib, in his address, explained about Islam's secular aspects to respect all religions and emphasized on the need to teach Muslims and non Muslim people on tolerance, respect and peaceful coexistence. He ended his speech on the fact that True Islam rejects the concept of bloody Messiah and the purpose of coming of the promised Messiah is nothing else but to establish peace in the world.
There was another video presentation on "True Islam Launch Campaign at Capitol Hill 2016". This video, again, displayed the Ahmadiyya concept of the True Islam & message of peace and its acknowledgement from prominent personalities of the US society.
Finally Sir Iftikhar Ahmed Ayaz, the keynote speaker, was invited to address the people. He started with the recitation of the verses of the Holy Qur'an. He condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Ankara, Paris, Brussels, Lahore and told that true Islam ensures safety and peace and emphasize on saving lives rather than killing.
Sir Iftikhar also referenced the Holy Qur'an in explaining that since one of the tributes of the God Almighty is that He is the source of all peace, then how Allah can allow his faithful followers to destroy peace of the world? Such atrocities we see in the today's world, Sir Iftikhar said conflict with the divine teachings of the True Islam.
Sir Iftikhar further said that the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) participated in many battles but even on peak moments during the wars environments he preferred to pray rather than wanting to do any killing. Ahmadi Muslims are following the foot steps of their beloved Master Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH), in an absolute manner and doing their best to accumulate peace in the society.
Guests were invited to speak also. Talwar Singh, member of Sikh community and the Sheriff of DuPage County availed the opportunity and appreciated the efforts of the Ahmadiyya community towards a peaceful society and world.
The event ended with silent prayer for humanity led by Imam Faran Rabbani. Guests were served lunch after the event.
