As an Ahmadi Muslim and a law-abiding citizen my heart is saddened by the mass shooting in Orlando.

There is no room in true Islam for killing anyone. If you kill a person it is like you killed all people and if you saved one person it is like saving all. Holy Quran 5:33. Even in war time a Muslim is prohibited to kill women, children old people, to destroy buildings or crops.

If a person drops his weapon and run you are not supposed to run after him. If you acquire prisoners then you have to feed them and clothe them as you do yourselves. Islam allows equal revenge only through the justice system and it advises that forgiveness is much better.

I belong to Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Phoenix chapter. Our biggest task is to educate the masses about true Islam and fight extremism by the Jihad (striving) through pen not sword or gun. My community absolutely rejects any form of violence; even when one is wronged he cannot take law in his own hands. Our youth have launched a campaign, Stop the CrISIS. Every year around 9/11 we collect blood to save lives to honor victims of 9/11.

We have 11 points of basic Quranic teachings negating any blood shedding or violence. Anyone can endorse these points to join us in fighting extremism. We are very sad and with heavy hearts we pray in 74 chapters in the USA.
