Letter: Appreciating Saskatoon police | Munib Waqas Ahmad

Police officers have chosen to serve our community. This is an awesome responsibility. They are the ones who stand between us and the vandals, burglars, rapists and murders looking to harm us every day.

As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, I condemn the inhumane act of violence committed against the Dallas Police Department, which resulted in the death of five officers and several being injured. We pray for the deceased officers and their families. May God be their helper and protector in this time of grief and loss.

On the same note, I would like to express our gratitude and sincere thanks to the Saskatoon Police Service for their hard work and dedication. This incident reminds us that all police officers put their lives in harm’s way to protect civilians.

Police officers have chosen to serve our community. This is an awesome responsibility. They are the ones who stand between us and the vandals, burglars, rapists and murders looking to harm us every day.

I would like to assure that we stand with Saskatoon police, which has good, honest and hard-working officers and staff. SPS will find us standing shoulder to shoulder with them in a time of need.

Munib Waqas Ahmad, Saskatoon
