India: Qadian Derwaish Sheikh Abdul Qadeer passed away


The 313 devotees who settled in Qadian to serve and protect the birthplace of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, came to be known as Derwaishan-e-Qadian.

Mr. Sheikh Abdul Qadeer Derwaish Qadian passed away here in Qadian. He was about 88 years old.

Sheiks Abdul Qadeer was among the 313 ‘Derwaishan-e-Qadian’ who came to Qadian at the call of the former spiritual head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ud Din Mehmood Ahmad, for the protections of the holy sites of Qadian at the time of the Indo-Pak partition.

The 313 devotees who settled in Qadian to serve and protect the birthplace of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, came to be known as Derwaishan-e-Qadian.

Sheikh Abdul Qadeer dedicated his whole life for the service of Islam-Ahmadiyyat. A very simple person, Sheikh Abdul Qadeer, served in the various departments of Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya Qadian.

Sheikh Abdul Qadeer is survived by his widower, three daughters and one son. His one daughter is married in Pakistan and two daughters are living in Canada. His son, Nasir Waheed, also serves the Ahmadiyya community in Qadian.
