Volunteers from a Muslim youth association in Cardiff spent their Christmas Eve donating bedding to the homeless.
The volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) made the donations which was organised by local leader for Cardiff, Kaleem Ahmed.
It is part of the AMYA’s national ‘Muslims for Humanity’ campaign, where AMYA members do things like clean up streets, donate to food banks, feed the homeless and carry out bucket collections for charities.
Speaking after the donations had been made, Kaleem Ahmed said: “As Muslims loyal to our country we are encouraged to partake in charity and we are reminded of our social responsibility to help our local communities, particularly those who are homeless or vulnerable.
“Christmas is an important time for many people and we are hopeful that our donations will make them stay warm and cosy during Christmas Eve leading into New Year.”
Members of the association aged between 15 to 35 donated the necessary hygiene items personally on Queen Street in Cardiff city centre.
