UK: Newcastle Ahmadiyya Muslim women brief Gateshead lawmaker on Pakistan anti-Ahmadi events | Video


MP Mearns assured Ms. Saeed that he will ask the Foreign Office to look into the matter and urge Pakistani government to investigate the incident fully and to assure that Pakistani security services are not involved in the attacks on Ahmadis.

A delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Association of Newcastle, led by Shafia Saeed, their Outreach Director, went to see Ian Mearns, Member of Parliament from Gateshead on December 21st. 2016.

Ms. Saeed presented season's greetings and the book “Philosophy of the teaching of Islam” to Mr. Mearns.

Ms. Saeed briefed the lawmaker on two recent incidences of persecution of Ahmadis in Rabwah and Chakwal, Pakistan, and explained the plight of Ahmadis and other minorities in the extremism-riddled country.

MP Mearns assured Ms. Saeed that he will ask the Foreign Office to look into the matter and urge Pakistani government to investigate the incident fully and to assure that Pakistani security services are not involved in the attacks on Ahmadis.

MP Mearns said he will issue a written statement as soon as he get a briefing from the Foreign Office.

Mr. Mearns recorded a video message condemning the anti-ahmadiyya acts and posed with a Stop Persecution poster.

He gave his email address and asked Ms. Saeed to contact him with further information as he would like to act on this matter immediately.
